CLEARS Executive Board President

Greetings !

I have been honored by CLEARS Members once again to serve as the State President of CLEARS.

Working with each one of the Chapter Board Presidents and the appointed Committee Chairs is a great experience.  For those that hesitate to get involved you are missing out.  I know we all have a lot on our plate at our respective agencies but working with colleagues who understand your duties and can relate to your challenges is a gift.  You cannot ask for a better support system.

CLEARS has played an integral role in the support and education of many Records and Support Services Supervisors and Managers throughout California for over 45 years. Our continued commitment to our members is impart to support the goals set forth in the Strategic Plan of the CLEARS By-Laws. Those goals are:

  1. To enhance Training
  2. To further internal corporation development
  3. To further external corporation development

In support of Goal 1. – Enhance Training.  Each year Chapter Board Presidents and Seminar Committees strive to provide excellent training opportunities to our members. Our 43rd Seminar held in Reno at the Peppermill was a huge success.  The 44th Seminar will be held at the Cliffs Resort in Pismo Beach and will focus on Health, Wellness, Leadership and Education. In May NIBRS may be offered at Regional Training near you.

In support of Goal 2. – Further Internal Corporation development. The Executive Board in 2016 passed motions to modify the CLEARS By-Laws that would allow voting electronically.  This change will enable chapter members the opportunity to vote for their Chapter Boards electronically.  Additionally the voting of the State President was completed by mail - the modification is applicable to the State President ballot as well.  Additionally, CLEARS Records will be retained in a digital format.

In support of Goal 3. – Further External Corporation development. The CLEARS Executive Board will continue to work with Warner, Pank, Salzillo and Sanchez on legislation that impacts Records as well as our law enforcement community.

On behalf of the 2017 CLEARS Executive Board know that we are committed to our members and we encourage you to reach out to any one of us if you have questions, concerns or need to talk over anything.

Take care, be safe and hope to see you at the CLEARS 43rd Annual Training and Technology Seminar November 6th – 10th, 2017 - The CLIFFS Resort Pismo Beach.
